There are a variety of flat roofing solutions available on the market but in our experience, fibreglass offers the most benefits to the customer. That is why Proplas specialises solely in GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) or fibreglass roofing, and have been doing so since 1985.
Cost effective and long lasting
GRP / Fibreglass will outlast some cheaper products by three times or more, making it much more cost effective in the long run. This is why we confidently offer a 25 year transferable guarantee to our clients.
Waterproof and weather resistant
Fibreglass is used in the marine industry to make boat hulls so it is incredibly waterproof and offers a smooth, seamless solution, eliminating the likelihood of weak-points, leaks and cracks that other products risk. It is ultra-resistant to weather and will withstand hot sun, heavy rain, storms and snow without significant deterioration for many decades.
Strong enough to be walked upon
Another benefit of fibreglass is its strength which makes it suitable for roof decks and other areas where roof access by foot is required. It looks good aesthetically and grit can be added to make a non-slip surface.
Alternatively, it offers a strong base for roof tiles or wooden decking to be installed on top.
Any colour
Fibreglass is often requested in lead-like grey but in fact, at Proplas we have the technical knowledge to produce any bespoke colour our client desires.
Very low maintenance
As a very low maintenance solution, fibreglass requires no special treatment or recoating. If desired, a wash with a brush and a soapy solution will clean off surface dirt and make it look like new again.
Versatile solution
If a client has a complex area, for example an unusual shaped roof, roof valley or window light/s to install, or a customer requires in-built features such as a seat, a roof garden or sculpture, then fibreglass is recommended. It is extremely versatile and can be moulded to virtually any shape.
